Become a Volunteer

Why volunteer your time to CFAA and further support your industry?

There are many reasons to become a volunteer at CFAA: the desire to help, to use one's knowledge for something good, to live a new experience, to help overcome some of our biggest industry challenges, to acquire abilities, or contribute to the common good in protecting society from the ravages of fire.

Our volunteers tell us that once they begin; the joy of volunteering in a CFAA task group and the interaction with those you are working with, will be more than sufficient reason to keep you coming back.

What's happening around you?

You know that all around you are people who compassionately identify fire alarm industry issues  but resolve to do nothing. The news media bombards us with sad images regarding loss of life due to horrific and catastrophic fires, but unfortunately the reality is we could do more to improve the performance of fire alarm systems and save lives by spending time to volunteer your expertise.

What is your situation?

You're an experienced CFAA registered technician, or a fire protection student, and therefore you may have long work hours, classes, internships, study time, and other activities you must carry out. All these activities are necessary, but you should think about how you can get involved with us and fit everything in.  In addition, you should know yourself well, and while you may be able to help in many areas, you may find that your prior training, your character, or your interests will mean that you will be of greatest aid in one or another area in particular.

A step forward...

Confirm your decision to get involved with the CFAA. Decide on a concrete area of activity within one of the task groups identified below.  Attend one of our task group sessions, via teleconference or Skype which the CFAA organizes, so that your work can be more effective every day.

Contact us if you wish to participate in one  or more of the following areas.
