Durham College 2018 Schedule for the CFAA Fire Alarm Technician Training Program

Our CFAA Fire Alarm Technician training (Canada Job Grant eligible) is designed for current industry professionals looking to obtain their CFAA registration.  For those that meet the entrance requirements, they will be able to enroll in the required 5 courses set by the CFAA. Each course is completed over two consecutive weekends and is the most affordable in relation to its speed.  We provide quality curriculum taught by experienced instructors in our advanced Fire Protection Lab in order to enhance practical training.
Students will complete the CFAA certification process which allows them to legally work on fire alarm systems in Ontario and other provinces. Students who successfully complete this course/program with a 60% or higher will be able to work within this popular field.  Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of fire alarm systems and the skills that are required vital for immediate success.
  • Meet the industry standard in practical skills which focuses on fire/building codes, ULC standards related to fire alarm systems and examining fire alarm drawings strategies
  • Learn within a state-of-the-art fully functioning fire protection lab equipped with fire alarm systems, chemical extinguishing systems and water extinguish systems
  • Gain the courses needed to build your career
  • Working (or worked) within the fire technician, fire protection, or fire enforcement for a minimum of 6 months or more, or professionally trained within the electrical and/or electronics field
  • Exceptional critical listening skills
  • Confident with the English language (both in written and verbal form)
