At the 2005 CFAA Technical Seminar, Ralph Coco of Potter Electric provided a very entertaining and insightful presentation on fire alarm sound system concepts, with emphasis on how to achieve the sound levels required by the Building Code. The CFAA is pleased to make his presentation available to our website visitors.

Ralph Coco, is the Canadian General Manager for Potter Manufacturing, A division of Potter Electric Signal & Manufacturing Ltd., located in St. Louis Missouri.  In the past Ralph has worked for companies such as Leonard Electric and Wheelock Inc. and brings 25 years of experience to our industry.  Ralph is an active member of the CFAA."

 - Most slides have two or more animations or developments. Therefore, while you are in each slide (including the first blank white slide), click in the slide display area repeatedly with your mouse until all sound and animation is complete. Only then, select the next slide by using the navigation arrows at the bottom of the slide display area.  
 - For your convenience, the slide list/outline at the left side of the screen presentation can be used to jump directly to any desired slide for review. You can also expand (or collapse) the slide list/outline to show more detail. Just click the rectangular button at the bottom of the slide list/outline.
 - The vertical separating bar between the list/outline and the slides may be dragged left or right to change the relative sizes of the two parts of the screen.
 - To "zoom" for better slide visibility, you can set your browser to View / Full Screen (F11 in Explorer).
